Students who work as Grader/Markers, Teaching Assistants, Lab Demonstrators, Seminar Leaders, and Tutors or who are Lecturer/Instructors are members of Unit 1. When you apply for any of these positions, the job posting should indicate the rank or classification, the level of education required, the wage as determined by rank and level, and the total number of hours for the term and per week.
Once hired, the University will invite you to an orientation session but you should also meet with the employment supervisor in order to determine the specific duties for your position. If you have concerns about the terms of your contract, contact CUPE 3909 or the VP Unit 1.
